Denver HVAC Repair

Never fails when you have guests! Always a plumbing issue pops up! First time I have called Bill Howe. Shower knob was frozen & we couldn't budge it. Really nice looking & polite young man named Marcus showed up promptly. He proceeded to look at problem. He explained problem & possible options if part was not easily replaceable. Fortunately the faucet was fixed with a replacement part without complications. Great news since the shower is 43 yrs. old!! Experience was very positive & I highly recommend this company!! Young repairman could not have been nicer or more professional. Will definitely recommend them.
The condenser fan is another important HVAC element that must be maintained. Condenser fans that contain oil ports should be lubricated at least annually. The outside condenser should also be shielded from direct sunlight if possible. Keeping vegetation at least two feet away from outdoor HVAC units will also promote higher performance and potentially lower energy bills due to higher efficiency. The further away vegetation is, the better an HVAC unit will operate.

During times of great need, 24-hour emergency service is available (and are guaranteed for members of our HVAC service plans). The use of furnaces, space heaters, and boilers as a method of indoor heating could result in incomplete combustion and the emission of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, and other combustion byproducts. Incomplete combustion occurs when there is insufficient oxygen; the inputs are fuels containing various contaminants and the outputs are harmful byproducts, most dangerously carbon monoxide, which is a tasteless and odorless gas with serious adverse health effects.[14]
You should also have air ducts cleaned after recent water contamination or water damage to prevent mold; after renovations or remodeling to ensure debris and dust didn’t settle in the vents and ducts; if you are having problems with allergies or asthma; or when you are moving into a newly purchased home, especially if the previous owners smoked or had pets. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years, or every two to three years in regions where homeowners use their air conditioning and heater for many months of the year, while the EPA suggests homeowners have duct cleaning done as needed.
Our team’s knowledge covers a variety of manufacturers, types of systems, local building codes, and best practices. Each technician goes through 200-plus hours of continuing education and training every year, including weekly training sessions. Whether your HVAC system is complex or small, old or brand new, or located in your basement or garage, our repair technicians can handle it.
Focus first on sealing ducts that run through the attic, crawlspace, unheated basement, or garage. Use duct sealant (mastic) or metal-backed (foil) tape to seal the seams and connections of ducts. After sealing the ducts in those spaces, wrap them in insulation to keep them from getting hot in the summer or cold in the winter. Next, look to seal any other ducts that you can access in the heated or cooled part of the house. See our Duct Sealing Fact Sheet (787KB) for more information.
Water damage is a terrible thing to go through; however, it helps to know that Bill Howe’s Restoration and Flood Services will be there quickly and efficiently when needed. Christian and Carlos make a great team. They are friendly, polite, and hard working. They are a credit to the Bill Howe Services, and I’m glad they were here to help me. Thank you Christian and Carlos and the Bill Howe crew. I always call Bill Howe Plumbing, and recommend their services to State Farm Insurance, neighbors and friends. Thank you,

This is a very common air conditioning problem. The unit will cool for a few hours and then it stops cooling all together. The next day or several hours later the air conditioning is cooling again but for only a few hours and then the air conditioning stops again. The reason this is happening is because the air conditioning unit is low on refrigerant because you have a refrigerant leak (the unit could freeze because of a few other air conditioning problems but this is the most common reason).

There is a premium for most any service company to come out afterhours or weekends, and being we are one of the very few companies to offer this service, a higher labor rate is understandable, after all, we have to pay our service persons an overtime rate for such calls.
The summers here in Alexandria can range from almost pleasant to downright brutal. And you know as well as we do that it’s those latter days when your central AC or heat pump will decide to go down! But you needn’t seek solace at the Waterfront or over at Cameron Run Regional Park. The secret to restoring your comfort lies with the certified specialists at HVAC Unlimited!
A mini-split system typically supplies air conditioned and heated air to a single or a few rooms of a building.[38] Multi-zone systems are a common application of ductless systems and allow up to 8 rooms (zones) to be conditioned from a single outdoor unit. Multi-zone systems typically offer a variety of indoor unit styles including wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, ceiling recessed, and horizontal ducted. Mini-split systems typically produce 9,000 to 36,000 Btu (9,500–38,000 kJ) per hour of cooling. Multi-zone systems provide extended cooling and heating capacity up to 60,000 Btu's.
Perhaps the most sensible way to cool your home is to use your home's heating apparatus. Heat pumps can work in exactly this fashion. This device exchanges warmer and cooler air particles between your home and the outside air, allowing you to create a comfortable environment inside your home without the need of generating your own source of heat and cold. The one major drawback of heat pumps is that they tend to be inadequate in extremely cold or hot temperatures, which Portland essentially never sees. The only reason many homeowners don't have heat pumps in their homes is that they already have a forced air heating system. Thus, the best time to install air conditioning for your home is when your heating system fails.

Please note: this is a review from someone who never got service from here. They just chose to ignore my calls for a heating emergency. Who knows, they might have give great service, if they actually return a promised phone call. I actually call them this past Saturday night. It was chilly, we turned the furnace on...... Poof.... Nothing. So, I look them up on Yelp. Good reviews with a few bad goods added, plus a Yelp deal. I gave them a call, the at about 6 pm. I know, 6pm on a Saturday, who's going to come out, well, they did. They woman, I assume their receptionist, answers and I told her I need someone out here. She assured me someone will call me back in 15 mins. Half hour to 45 mins later, no calls from them. I figured maybe they wrote the number down wrong, it happens. So, I called them again. They got the number correct, got my name and address correct, and was told they will call me back in 10 mins. I even asked if this is something they don't do, as in services on a Saturday night. I was told by the receptionist that they do and I would just be ok calling another company if they is not part of their services. They again assured me someone WILL call me in 10 mins. Well, unless their definition of 10 mins is never, then they got it wrong as I am still waiting to be called 5 days later.
Air conditioners can create a lot of water because they remove moisture from the air. To get rid of this, they have a [usually plastic] drain pipe that comes out of the side of the air handler. Over time, algae can block this pipe and, when it does, the AC won’t work. In fact, some condensate drains have a float switch that won’t let the AC run if water backs-up. Water can also puddle around the unit or flood the area. To deal with condensate problems, please see Air Conditioner Leaks Water, below.

HVAC professionals in the US can receive training through formal training institutions, where most earn associate degrees. Training for HVAC technicians includes classroom lectures and hands-on tasks, and can be followed by an apprenticeship wherein the recent graduate works alongside a professional HVAC technician for a temporary period.[29] HVAC techs who have been trained can also be certified in areas such as air conditioning, heat pumps, gas heating, and commercial refrigeration.[30]

This company deserves more than five stars. They didn't just replace my heater and air conditioner, they built me a new system for my house. Going above and beyond is a understatement. Steve's staff were 2 of the nicest workers I've come across in a long time. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very clean. Truly a top rated company. Thanks Steve. Great job.

A contactor is a $25 mechanical relay that uses low-voltage power from the thermostat to switch 220-volt high-amperage current to the compressor and condenser fan. AC contactors can wear out and are at the top of the list of common air conditioning service failures. Even if your contactor is working, it pays to replace it every five years or so. Unscrew the old contactor before removing the wires. Then move the wires to the new unit (photo 6).
