Rise and Shine

My day as a roofer at Scarpone and Sons Inc. starts bright and early. I’m up at 5:30 AM, grabbing a quick breakfast and my safety gear before heading out the door. Our team serves various areas, including Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Depew, Amherst, Lancaster, and Elma, NY, so I never know exactly where I’ll be working each day.

Morning Briefing

By 7:00 AM, I’m at our headquarters for the daily briefing. Our supervisor goes over the day’s assignments, safety reminders, and any special considerations for each job. Today, we’re tackling a roof replacement in West Seneca and a repair job in Depew.

On the Job

Our first stop is the roof replacement in West Seneca. We arrive on site by 8:00 AM and begin setting up our equipment. The homeowner greets us, and we discuss the project timeline and any concerns they might have. Then, it’s time to get to work:

  • Remove old shingles
  • Inspect and repair underlying structure
  • Install new underlayment
  • Apply new shingles

Lunch Break

Around noon, we take a short break for lunch. It’s a good time to hydrate and refuel for the afternoon ahead.

Afternoon Tasks

After finishing up in West Seneca, we head to our repair job in Depew. This involves:

  • Identifying the source of a leak
  • Replacing damaged shingles
  • Sealing vulnerable areas

Wrapping Up

As the day winds down, we clean up our work areas, ensuring we leave both properties in pristine condition. We head back to headquarters to return equipment and debrief on the day’s accomplishments.

Continuous Learning

Before heading home, I spend some time reviewing new roofing techniques and materials. Scarpone and Sons Inc. emphasizes ongoing education to keep us at the forefront of the industry.

As I drive home, I feel a sense of satisfaction knowing we’ve helped protect two more homes from the elements. Tomorrow, it’s on to new challenges in roofing services across Western New York!
