5:30 AM – Rise and Shine
The day starts early in the roofing business, especially during our peak season. After a quick breakfast and coffee, I load up my personal gear and head to Blue Collar Roofers’ headquarters to meet with the crew.
6:15 AM – Morning Brief
We gather for our daily briefing, reviewing the day’s projects across Syracuse and surrounding areas. Today’s schedule includes a major tear-off in Fairmount and a repair job in Dewitt. Safety protocols are reviewed, and weather conditions are discussed – crucial for our line of work.
7:00 AM – First Job Site
Arriving at the Fairmount location, we begin our systematic approach:
– Setting up safety equipment and fall protection
– Placing debris containers strategically
– Protecting the customer’s landscaping
– Organizing materials and tools
12:00 PM – Lunch Break
A quick 30-minute break to refuel and hydrate. Working on roofs means dealing with direct sun exposure, so staying hydrated is essential.
3:30 PM – Second Job
Moving to our Dewitt repair job, we tackle:
– Identifying water damage
– Replacing damaged shingles
– Ensuring proper drainage
– Quality check inspection
5:00 PM – Wrap Up
Before heading home, we:
– Clean up both job sites
– Complete daily work reports
– Prepare equipment for tomorrow
– Review tomorrow’s schedule
The satisfaction of protecting homes while delivering quality craftsmanship makes the physical demands of roofing worthwhile. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve our community across Syracuse, Cicero, Clay, and beyond.
